Running in Afghanistan was an act of defiance. Now in Canada, I run to show others they can

Atefa Rahimi grew up in Afghanistan, where her relatives and wider sports discouraged her from running. Through tragedies of losing her mother, the rise of the Taliban and having to leave her country for Canada, running gave her a reason to keep going.
